Blk Healthy Event Participation Terms

 Eligibility & Conduct Policy

Our events are open to the public unless otherwise specified.

Participants must adhere to a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment.

Vendor Participation

Vendor slots at Blk + Healthy events are first-come, first-served

(outside of Blk + Healthy members ) and by application.

Blk + Healthy Members:

Blk + Healthy Community Calendar Members 

Your application must be reviewed and approved to be a part of Blk + Healthy.

You must pay your vendor fee for guaranteed spot a part of Blk + Healthy.

Weather & Emergency Policy

Blk + Healthy Events are rain or shine unless conditions are severe. 

In the case of severe or unforeseen circumstances for Blk + Healthy, a rescheduled date will be provided or the option for a refund. 

Vendor Cancellations & No-shows

We understand life happens with unforseen circumstances. Blk + healthy understands if you need to cancel your vendor application and or space. 

We ask for a 48-24 hour cancellation notificatication. 

If you are a no-show without any notication before the event.

You will not be permitted to be a part of Blk + Healthy's following event season. 

Ex. If you are a no-show for Blk + Healthy Fall , you are not permitted to be a part of any events in Winter or Spring (whichever events resume in the calendar year for Blk + Healthy.)

Vendor Refund Policy

Blk + Healthy vendors are permitted to receive a refund by the specific date provided by Blk + Healthy during vendor registration timeframe. The date is provided within vendor registration information under "refund policy."

If you miss the deadline to cancellation deadline, no refunds will be issued.

Blk + Healthy reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Limitation of Liability

While Blk + Healthy takes pride in creating safe, engaging, and intentional experiences, attendees participate at their own risk. We are not liable for injuries, lost or stolen items, or unforeseen disruptions during our events. All participants are expected to follow event-specific rules and guidelines to ensure a positive and respectful environment.

Blk + Healthy Community Calendar Terms

Terms & Conditions

By submitting an event to the Blk + Healthy Community Calendar, you agree to the following: 1. Eligibility Events must serve or support the Black community in Upstate South Carolina. Directory listings must be Black-owned or in direct service to Black communities. 2. Approval All submissions are reviewed. We reserve the right to decline listings that do not align with our mission of wellness, respect, and community upliftment. Approved submissions may be lightly edited for clarity or formatting. 3. Payment Payment is required at the time of submission. Add-ons (e.g., vendor features, newsletter spotlights) are billed separately. 4. Conduct Submissions must NOT promote: Hate speech Misinformation Discriminatory behavior Illegal activity Violence Violations will result in immediate removal with no refund. Rescheduling (See Rescheduling Policy Below)

Event Rescheduling Policy

If your event is postponed or rescheduled... If your event is rescheduled, we will update your listing once at no extra cost. You must notify us within 24 hours of deciding to postpone, even if you don’t have a new date yet. If you’re rescheduling on the day of the original event, notify us before the event start time, whenever possible. Once your new date is confirmed, email us with the update. Until a new date is provided, we will mark your event as: “Postponed – New Date Coming Soon.” Additional Reschedule Requests: Each event listing includes 1 free update Every additional change or reschedule: $10 admin fee the To request a change, email: jasmine@blknhealthy.com Subject line: “Reschedule Request – [Your Event Name]”

Posting & Edits

Approved events will appear on our community calendar for public viewing..... You may request one edit per event. Additional edits may require a small administrative fee ($5).

Refund Policy

We do not offer refunds on active or completed billing cycles... Exceptions may be made in the case of duplicate payments or platform errors. Please contact us at jasmine@blknhealthy.com within 7 days of billing if you believe there was an error. Optional Add-Ons (e.g., Sponsored Posts, Vendor Features)Add-on purchases are one-time payments and non-refundable, even if you cancel your membership afterward. All event payments are final and non-refundable, regardless of whether the event is later canceled, rescheduled, or modified by the event host. Since Blk + Healthy is not the organizer of the event, we are not responsible for changes to event details, turnout, or outcomes. No refunds will be given due to low attendance, changes in venue, or event cancellations by the host. Because vendor responsiveness is outside of our control, no refunds will be issued in the event a vendor fails to respond, declines to participate, or does not follow through after being listed or recommended in a vendor call. We encourage all event organizers and clients to: Follow up using multiple communication methods (email, phone, social media). Confirm all expectations and agreements in writing. Use their own discretion when selecting and engaging vendors.

Membership Cancellation Policy

Monthly Membership Cancellations.... You can cancel your membership at any time by logging into your account or emailing us directly. Canceling stops the next billing cycle, but does not refund the current one. Your listing and benefits will remain active until the end of your current term. Once a membership is canceled:Access to member-only benefits (like unlimited posts or IG story features) ends after the billing term ends.Your event listings will remain visible until their expiration date or event date, whichever comes first.

Billing & Membership Policy

Here's our membership billing schedule .... Membership Billing Monthly Subscriptions: Billed every 30 days from the date of original sign up. Quarterly Subscriptions: Billed every 90 days (3 months) from the date of sign-up. Annual Subscriptions: Billed once per year on the sign-up date. All billing is processed securely through [Stripe/PayPal] and will renew automatically unless canceled.

Annual Membership

Billing Structure

Annual Billing Membership .... Annual memberships are billed once per year at the time of sign-up. The full payment is collected upfront and provides access to all features for a 12-month period. Memberships automatically renew each year on the anniversary of your sign-up unless canceled beforehand.

Cancellation Policy

Annual Membership Cancellation.... You may cancel your annual membership at any time, but no refunds will be issued for the remaining months of your current term. Canceling simply prevents auto-renewal for the next year. All benefits will remain active until the end of your paid term.

Annual Membership Renewal 

Annual Membership Renewal.... A renewal reminder will be sent 7–14 days before your annual membership renews.You can update your payment method or cancel renewal at that time. Missed Renewal Payments If your annual renewal payment fails, you will receive a grace period of 7 days to update your billing info.After that, your membership benefits may be paused until payment is completed.

One-Time Event Payment Terms

One-time payments (for calendar listings, sponsored posts, featured highlights, etc.) are due in full upon submission and approval of your event promotion request. Payment secures your promotional slot and is required before your event is published on any Blk + Healthy platforms.

Blk + Healthy's Role

Blk + Healthy is a promotional and community platform. We are not liable for any aspect of the actual event’s planning, execution, or participant experience. We reserve the right to remove any event found to be misleading, harmful, or misaligned with our mission after publishing, without refund.

Vendor Communication Disclaimer

Blk + Healthy provides a platform to showcase and connect vendors with event organizers, businesses, and community members. However, we cannot guarantee vendor responsiveness once a vendor call is listed or recommended. Vendors are responsible for managing their own communication, availability, and follow-through. Blk + Healthy does not act as a liaison or representative for vendors and does not facilitate bookings or enforce participation.

Limitation of Liability

Blk + Healthy provides the Community Calendar as a resource for promoting local events. We are not responsible for the planning, execution, or experience of events hosted by third parties. Listing an event does not imply endorsement. In cases of cancellations, dissatisfaction, or any incident at a promoted event, Blk + Healthy is not liable for any losses, damages, or claims.

Free Community Events

We love highlighting events that strengthen our community! Here’s how it works:

Who Can Post for Free: Blk + Healthy Vendors – unlimited free community event submissions Non–Blk + Healthy Community Event/Directory Members – up to 2 free community event listings per year ROOT Tier Members – unlimited free community event submissions What Qualifies as a Free Community Event: Open to the public No entry fee, ticket cost, or required purchase Educational, wellness-focused, cultural, or community-building in nature What’s Not Included: Fundraisers with ticketed entry Paid workshops or classes Private or invite-only events Need more listings? Additional paid event listings are available at member discount rates.

Blk + Healthy's Role

Blk + Healthy serves as a community resource platform that highlights and promotes majority Black-owned, Black-led, and youth-led businesses and organizations across South Carolina. By participating in the Business Directory: We provide promotional visibility, including searchable listings, featured highlights (depending on tier), and opportunities for shoutouts across our platforms. We do not act as an agent, representative, or affiliate of listed businesses. Blk + Healthy does not facilitate payments, guarantee sales, or serve as a broker between listed businesses and customers. Each listed business is solely responsible for: The accuracy of their information The quality of their services or products Their communication, transactions, and customer relationships We reserve the right to remove or suspend any listing that violates our community guidelines, contains false or harmful information, or no longer aligns with the mission and values of Blk + Healthy.

Blk + Healthy lists businesses for community visibility and support but does not vet or guarantee the services or conduct of any listed business. We are not liable for any negative experiences, disputes, or service issues between users and businesses. Inclusion in the directory does not equal endorsement or certification.

Bundles

Founder’s Promo Bundle Rules

Bundles are only for Founder’s Promo participants and past Blk + Healthy vendors Event listings must be submitted within the year of purchase Discounts cannot be combined with other offers Free event listings must be for free or community events only Non–Blk + Healthy Community Event/Directory members may submit up to 2 free community events per year

Privacy & Submission Policy

We collect the following info: Name, email, event/business details, social links Payment info (securely handled via Stripe) Your listing info may be shared publicly across our platforms for promotion. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
